Top Ten Natural Beauty Tips

Here are my top ten, tried and tested natural beauty tips ....


To help dry lips and remove dry skin use an old toothbrush to gently exfoliate the lips not only does this remove those horrible flakes that we get, but it also brightens your natural lip colour so no need for lipstick!  If you have dry cracked lips look for a lip balm with almond and e-vitamin in them, they have a long-term, healing effect.


Instead of using hot water when steaming your face, use hot milk. Heat the milk to boiling point, pour into a warm bowl and place a towel over your head for the ultimate steam cleanse. The lactic acid in the milk decongests the pores, leaving your skin beautifully clear.


If you have greasy hair try to avoid oil in your daily food intake and eat more vegetables. To fix at the moment, rub a little Talcum Powder on your dried hair at the roots.


To reduce and stop stretch marks, moisturiser daily with creams that contain vitamin E and cocoa butter as they make the skin smoother and more elastic. Drinking plenty of water to maintaining the skin elasticity, preventing the formation of the stretch marks. Eat foods that promote healthy skin such as zinc-rich foods (oil, fish), vitamin A and C (carrots, citrus, milk), protein (eggs)!


Use brown mascara on your lower lashes rather than black - even if you use black on the top lashes. A lighter colour on the bottom gives your eyes a lift. Also, line the inside of the eyes with a dark brown liner, as, over time, it will smudge into the lashes resulting in a very sexy eye.


Soak your hands and nails in olive oil for a few minutes every week. Olive oil moisturizes your nails without weakening them, and softens your cuticles too. It also prevents "hang nails" that are caused by dry skin.


If you have peeling nails do not file them as this makes the peeling worse, only cut them! 


For naturally curly hair that tends to look frizzy, mix your curling mousse with a hair conditioner and apply it to your hair. This will give a sleeker look and create more controlled curls!


To make yourself look less tired refresh your eyes with 'Dry Eye Drops' and don't take your eyeliner to the outer corners of your eyes but flick it upwards before the outer edges!


After washing your face, rinse in cold water (fair-skinned people should use cool instead of cold) to close the pores and tighten the facial muscles.

Kelly's Birthday!

Firstly we would like to say a big Happy Birthday to Kelly, 21 today! And secondly a big thank you to our supplies for such a lovely day out yesterday. What started out as a quick trip to London to Olympia Beauty ended up being a fun filled bar crawl of a day.


With a bit of a disappointing start, not only did we end up at the wrong venue (somehow I think the name Olympia Beauty should of given us a clue but no, we still went to Excel) but the beauty show was a bit of a let down.  However we still came home with a few bargains, to name one being Gemma's delightful new salon shoes.

Ok not the best looking shoes but extremely practical and designed not only for comfort but to help ease bad backs, and to tone your bum and thighs at the same time. What more could any girl want??? Somehow I think Kelly will be sticking to her high heels all the same.


So after leaving the beauty show within a hour of arriving, our suppliers decided to take us out for a few drinks to help celebrate Kellys birthday and treated us to a few glasses of bubbly at Harvey Nics! But of course it didn't end there and was swiftly followed by more champs at Zuma, dinner at The Ivy, and just to finish off the night, as if we needed more alcohol, with cocktails at W Bar Hotel. All in all a brilliant night and I'm sure there will be a few sore heads about today, not bad for a Monday!


All I can say is Thank god for Berocca Multivitamins as they are my saviour today from an extremely sore head!

Baby Boo Boom

With all the celebrity pregnancies going on; Beyonce, Amanda Holden and Victoria Beckham and baby Harper to name a few, it seems the whole world is feeling a bit broody at the moment. My Holiday Nails .... GELeration

After returning from 10 days in sunny Spain where the weather was glorious (in fact nearly too hot) it’s taken me a while to get back into the swing of things! For once I actually relaxed on my hols and hardly thought about work at all, I say hardly but I couldn’t resist opening the laptop once or twice just to check my emails and a few cheeky calls home just in case.

Before I went away I treated myself to a GELeration manicure and pedicure, along with a facial and massage to get me in the mood for relaxation! GEleration is a new soak off nail system by Jessica Cosmetics and offers a long lasting manicure created to actually benefit your nails rather than the usual acrylics. It not only protects your nails but is brilliant for weak or bitten nails as gives them the chance to grow and is chip resistant. So after 10 days away my nails are still unchipped and as good as new and I have to say I’m very impressed. I went for the very appropriate ‘soak up the sun’ shade but it comes in 26 different Jessica colours.  One of the benefits for me with my busy lifestyle is that when my nails do start to chip I can just paint over them in the same Jessica colour– perfect!

Morning All,

Finally this morning was the arrival of our new mummies and babies range “Boo Boo’. Being a mummy myself this range is particularly exciting for me and no-one could quite understand my squeals of enthusiasm when the delivery arrived!

I admit I am a slightly neurotic mother when it comes to Jack, but hey what first time mums aren't, and with his gorgeous baby skin so prone to rashes and skin problems who can blame me?  After the 8th time of going back to the doctors, for them only to yet again roll there eyes at me and give me another tub of liquid paraffin I decided to take matters into my own hands and find a product that actually kept his baby skin moisturized.

Top Drawer London

Morning All, 

Yesterday the Lovingbeauty girls were in for a treat when they trudged up to London for the Top Drawer Exhibition. Top Drawer "is a retail trade event which brings together an inspirational showcase of over 700 carefully selected British and international suppliers to the convenient central location of Olympia, London", well I have to say it was an amazing event and day! 

With stall after stall of different products, gift ideas, smells and colours we were in our element and it was an all-round very productive day. On the way home with out goody bags clutched close we were buzzing with ideas and getting very excited over the new products we had purchased for both Indulgence Beauty Salon and the online store Lovingbeauty.co.uk.

As you what new products and treat we bought, you will just have to wait and see .....
